The Music of Prince is going to be celebrated with an all-star tributefor the purple man himself. Although the official lineup has not been announced yet, tickets for the March 7th show at New York City’s Carnegie Hall are already going fast. The organizer of the event isKnitting Factory founder Michael Dorf who has organized tributes for the like of The Who, Bruce Springsteen, The Rolling Stones,R.E.M., and more. The Prince tribute will be Dorf’s ninth annual concert in the series.

Coldplay and Jay-Z will wrap up NYE together as they co-headilne at the Barclays Centerin Brooklyn. This will be Coldplay’s second Brooklyn show as they headline solo the night before. Chris Martin has suggested the band is about to embark on a several year hiatus after their last gigs so be sure not to miss their shows in Uncasville and Brooklyn.
Phish will once again jam the year away with yet another New Year’s Eve residency atMadison Square Garden in New York City. Trey Anastasio and crew revive their biggest show of the year, but for the first time ever, the floor will be general admission. The NBA All Star Game comes to Houston’s Toyota Center February 17th. The entire weekend will be packed with all-star events as the 62nd edition of this all-star exhibition game comes back to the city that hosted it in 1989 and 2006.
