The Book of Mormon has won nine Tony Awards, including one for Best Musical, and the Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album. Created by “South Park” creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the musical follows the story of two young Mormon missionaries sent to a remote village in northern Uganda, where a brutal warlord is threatening the local population. Naive and optimistic, they try to share the Book of Mormon, one of their scriptures (which only one of them has read) but have trouble connecting with the locals, who are more worried about war, famine, poverty, and AIDS than about religion.
The Book of Mormon comes to: New York, London, Chicago, Houston, San Antonio, Austin, Omaha, New Orleans, Denver, Orlando, Tampa, Fort Lauderdale, San Francisco, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Durham, Baltimore, Schenectady, Boston, Providence, Columbus, Costa Mesa, Louisville, San Diego, East Lansing, Las Vegas, Indianapolis, Memphis, Portland, Seattle, Philadelphia.
