Icelandic songstress Bjork has revealed designs for a three-year educational tour, inspired by her upcoming “multimedia” project, “Biophilia.” The album’s title refers to a love of all living things. She is mapping out a string of eight six-week residencies, with an elaborate stage show that features a “24-woman choir, giant Tesla coils and several large custom-built instruments that Bjork and her collaborators invented: a portable pipe organ, four 10-foot pendulums that play harp notes as they swing, a gramophone-like contraption called a “Sharpsichord” and another piece called a “gameleste,” which is a fusion of a celesta and a gamelan”. CONCACAF announced that one of the dates for its 2012 Men’s Olympic qualifying tournament (Soccer) will be in Carson, CA, on March 23rd.
